Samsung&#39;s design <a href="/samsung/experience-9.0/hot-beverage/">previously featured</a>&nbsp;a foamy-white tulip latte art design.

May be paired with the&nbsp;<a href="/frog/">Frog Face&nbsp;</a>to represent the snarky&nbsp;<a href="https://knowyourmeme.com/memes/but-thats-none-of-my-business">But That&#39;s None of My Business meme</a>. Relatedly, can also be used alone to represent&nbsp;&quot;tea&quot; as per the slang phrase &quot;spill the tea&quot;,&nbsp;used to request the sharing of gossip,&nbsp;news, or personal information. More recently, it can also be used to refer to a person&#39;s physical attractiveness, as per the slang phrase &quot;your body is tea.&quot;

Apple&rsquo;s design features an old-fashioned, leather, trunk-styled case with graphic <a href="https://www.citylab.com/design/2013/05/lost-art-luggage-labels/5652/">luggage labels</a>/stickers, not to be confused with <a href="/briefcase/">💼&nbsp;Briefcase</a> or <a href="/handbag/">👜&nbsp;Handbag</a>. Google and Facebook also include such stickers.

Like&nbsp;<a href="/fountain-pen/">🖋️&nbsp;Fountain Pen</a>, commonly used for various content concerning writing, drawing, and signing (e.g., laws, deals, in sports).

Several platforms, including Google, Microsoft, and Samsung, depict only a nib, sometimes ringed with gold. Other platforms, including Apple and Twitter, feature the same designs as their <a href="/fountain-pen/">🖋️&nbsp;Fountain Pen</a>, but with their tips angled to the lower right.

Black Nib

Released in&nbsp;October&nbsp;2010, Unicode 6.0 was the first version of the <a href="/the-unicode-consortium">Unicode Standard</a> to support emoji.

Some characters in <a href="/unicode-5.2/">prior</a>&nbsp;versions of Unicode were retroactively updated to provide&nbsp;an emoji presentation. This release was the first to introduce new characters for the sole purpose of compatability with emojis being used in Japan.

Samsung devices use <a href="https://news.samsung.com/global/samsungs-emoji-suite-makes-for-a-more-emotional-digital-world">their own emoji designs</a>&nbsp;which are different to those used on other <a href="/google/">Android devices</a>. These&nbsp;glossy emojis&nbsp;appear on devices such as the Samsung Galaxy and Galaxy Note series and are updated as part of the Samsung One UI interface layer (previously Samsung Experience, before that Samsung TouchWiz)&nbsp;which runs on top of Android.

Note that Samsung users may see select emojis display as their <a href="/google/">Google</a>&nbsp;set design. This is due to <a href="https://blog.emojipedia.org/faster-emoji-updates-on-the-way-for-android-apps/">Android AppCompat</a>, which will display a Google emoji design within an app or web platform&nbsp;when a Samsung device has not yet been updated to support that particular emoji.

Since the introduction of Samsung&#39;s emoji set in <a href="/samsung/touchwiz-2.0">2014</a>, various Unicode characters that have not been recommended to have emoji presentation have nevertheless been given a colorful emoji design on Samsung platforms.
