Generally depicted as a <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coccinella_septempunctata">seven-</a> or <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coccinella_novemnotata">nine-spotted</a> ladybug shown from above on its six legs, with <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Antenna">antennae</a> and its&nbsp;distinctively red-and-black, halved shell.

May be used a symbol of good luck.

Facebook&rsquo;s ladybug is shown on its legs facing forward.

Lady Beetle

The pink flower of a cherry blossom tree. Depicted as a single, light-pink cherry blossom with five, notched petals and red-tipped stamens in&nbsp;a yellow or white center.

A traditional symbol <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cherry_blossom">in Japan</a>, where the flower is called sakura&nbsp;and celebrated in&nbsp;annual viewings.

Seedling

An evergreen tree, which keeps green leaves all year round. Depicted as a tall, dark green, cone-shaped tree with shaggy, layered leaves, as a <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pine">pine</a>&nbsp;or <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fir">fir</a>, showing a brown trunk.

May be decorated in the form of a <a href="/christmas-tree/">🎄 Christmas Tree</a>. May also be used to represent various types of trees, forests, northern climates, nature, winter, and the <a href="/christmas/">Christmas season</a>.

Evergreen Tree

A <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deciduous">deciduous</a> tree, whose leaves change color before shedding, as <a href="/fallen-leaf/">🍂 Fallen Leave</a>, in the <a href="/fall-autumn/">fall/autumn</a>. Depicted as a generic tree with a round, lush, leafy top and brown trunk.

May be used to represent various types of trees, forests, temperate climates, nature, and the seasons of <a href="/spring/">spring</a> and <a href="/summer/">summer</a>.

Deciduous Tree

A palm tree, a <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arecaceae">tree-like plant</a>, as grows by the sea. Depicted as a palm tree&nbsp;with long, green, feather-like leaves and a tall, brown, segmented trunk.

May be used to represent beaches, tropical climates and cultures, summer fun, and vacations (holidays). As such, this emoji tends to spike in popularity during the <a href="/summer">summer</a> months.

Vendors&nbsp;implement a similar tree in their <a href="/desert-island/">🏝️ Desert Island</a>.

Microsoft&rsquo;s palm tree bears <a href="/coconut/">coconuts</a>, as Samsung&rsquo;s <a href="/samsung/experience-9.0/palm-tree/">previously</a> did. <a href="/apple/ios-9.1/palm-tree/">Apple&rsquo;s</a> palm tree previously had more erect palms.

During the summer of 2024 this emoji became associated with then-Vice President of the Untied States Kamala Harris, referencing a viral clip of a speech made in May 2023 where she stated: &quot;You think you just fell out of a coconut tree? You exist in the context of all in which you live and what came before you.&rdquo;

Palm Tree

A cactus, a spiky plant that grows in very dry regions. Depicted as a light-green <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saguaro">saguaro</a> cactus with two side arms covered in spines.

May be used to represent various succulents, <a href="/desert/">deserts</a>, Southwestern culture, or the Wild West.

WhatsApp&rsquo;s cactus is topped with three red flowers.

Cactus

An herb, a plant used in cooking or medicine. Depicted as a green sprig, as of basil, sage, or oregano, generally with five or seven leaves.

May be used for various content concerning cooking, herbal medicine, and plant life more generally. Occasionally used as slang for marijuana.

Four Leaf Clover

The distinctive, star-shaped&nbsp;leaf of the maple tree. Depicted as a reddish-orange maple leaf, as has changed color in the fall/autumn, with five pointed segments.

Used as an emblem of Canada, featured on the&nbsp;<a href="/flag-canada/">🇨🇦 Flag of Canada</a>. Also used to represent trees and the season of&nbsp;<a href="/fall-autumn/">fall/autumn</a>&nbsp;more generally.

Microsoft&#39;s leaf was <a href="/microsoft/windows-10/maple-leaf/">previously</a> yellow.

Maple Leaf

Leaves, as a have changed color and fallen from a tree in fall/autumn. Depicted as two or three golden-brown, almond-shaped leaves of various sizes, with stems up, as if falling down.

Commonly used to represent the season of <a href="/fall-autumn/">fall/autumn</a>, trees, and nature more generally.

Fallen Leaf

Leaves, as fluttering in a spring or summer breeze. Depicted as one or two green, almond-shaped leaves, with gray or blue motion lines, as if swirling in the air or as the wind blowing through the trees.

May be used to represent the season of <a href="/fall-autumn/">fall/autumn</a>, trees, and nature more generally.

Leaf Fluttering in Wind

A whole potato&mdash;such as a russet, used for baking, mashing, or frying&mdash;shown with a few eyes on its golden-brown skin. Not to be confused with the&nbsp;<a href="/roasted-sweet-potato/" title="🍠 Roasted Sweet Potato">roasted sweet potato</a>.

Potato

The colorful arc of a rainbow, as may appear after rain. Generally depicted as the left half of a full rainbow, showing six bands of color: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and violet.

Commonly used to express <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rainbow_flag_(LGBT_movement)">gay pride</a>. Also commonly used to convey various feelings of love and happiness. See also <a href="/rainbow-flag/">🏳️&zwj;🌈 Rainbow Flag</a>.

WhatsApp&rsquo;s design shows the right arc of rainbow disappearing into a cloud. Facebook&rsquo;s rainbow is displayed on a blue sky, as <a href="/apple/ios-6.0/rainbow/">Apple</a>, <a href="/samsung/experience-9.0/rainbow/">Samsung</a>, and <a href="/twitter/twemoji-1.0/rainbow/">Twitter&rsquo;s</a> previously were. <a href="/google/android-7.0/rainbow/">Google</a> and <a href="/microsoft/windows-10/rainbow/">Microsoft</a> previously displayed full rainbow arcs with clouds.

Rainbow

A Japanese <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kadomatsu">kadomatsu</a>, composed of pine leaves and bamboo shoots. Traditionally placed outside homes in Japan around the New Year to welcome spirits for a plentiful, happy year ahead.

Depicted as three shoots of <a href="/tanabata-tree/">bamboo</a>, arranged vertically at different heights in a wooden container, arrayed with pine leaves.

Often used to represent various plants or as a green accent color.

WhatsApp&rsquo;s kadomatsu is adorned with red berries, as is Facebook&rsquo;s, which also includes pink <a href="/cherry-blossom/">cherry blossoms</a>.

Pine Decoration

A <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nazar_(amulet)#Amulet">nazar</a>, an eye-shaped amulet believed to protect against the <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Evil_eye">evil eye</a>, especially in Turkish culture. Depicted as a rich blue, circular bead with a black dot in the center ringed with white and light blue, resembling an <a href="/eye/">eye</a>.

Commonly used to represent eyes, various senses of looking, various senses of&nbsp;charms, envy and jealousy, and&nbsp;<a href="/flag-turkey/">Turkey</a> and Turkish culture. Also used for its blue color more generally.

WhatsApp, Facebook, and Huawei&#39;s designs include a small hole, as for threading the amulet on a string or chain.

Nazar Amulet

A latin cross, otherwise known as a Christian cross. This cross symbol is often used as a symbol of Christianity. Similar in appearance&nbsp;to the <a href="/orthodox-cross/">Orthodox cross</a>.

Latin Cross

A decorative symbol that appears like a golden flower, but found in all manner of logos, symbols, and patterns. This symbol forms part of the <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/World_Scout_Emblem">World Scout Emblem</a>, amongst other uses.

Fleur-de-lis

The flag for&nbsp;<a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Republic_of_Ireland">Ireland</a>, which may show as the letters&nbsp;IE&nbsp;on some platforms.

A symbol which loosely <a href="https://twitter.com/zacrellin/status/864862375291174912">resembles a fidget spinner</a>&nbsp;with three circular protrusions.

The&nbsp;Gbakurunen symbol is a&nbsp;Unicode character which does not have&nbsp;emoji presentation, and is&nbsp;part of the N&#39;Ko block which&nbsp;contains&nbsp;characters for languages of West Africa.
