The same set of characters as available in Type B-2 with similar designs that included additional shading and detail. Available from August 2000, and commonly seen on au devices in 2001-2002. This character set was supported in the OpenWave Mobile Browser 6.2 on au devices.

Replaced in 2002 by Type C-2, which used entirely different designs.
