The <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Statue_of_Liberty">Statue of Liberty</a>, often used as a depiction&nbsp;of <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_York_City">New York City</a>.

Due to its initial inclusion in <a href="/softbank/2000">an early Japanese emoji set</a>, it is possible that this emoji was originally intended to represent the recreation of the Statue of Liberty located on the Odaiba island in Tokyo Bay.

Statue of Liberty

A bald eagle, the majestic bird of prey with brown feathers and distinctive white head. Generally depicted facing left, with its wings outspread and talons out, as if swooping down to seize prey.

Commonly associated with the <a href="/flag-united-states/">United States</a>, whose national emblem is the bald eagle. May be used for other eagles and birds of prey (e.g., hawks).

Google&rsquo;s eagle used to have its wings tucked in, as if perched on a branch. Twitter&rsquo;s design shows only the bust of an eagle. Apple&rsquo;s <a href="/newspaper/">📰 Newspaper</a> features its eagle on its masthead.

Eagle

A classic red apple, shown with a stem and single, green leaf on major platforms. Commonly associated with&nbsp;<a href="/woman-health-worker/">doctors</a>,&nbsp;<a href="/man-teacher/">teachers</a>, and&nbsp;<a href="/statue-of-liberty/">New York</a>.

Red Apple

The brown bread of a bagel, shown sliced in two halves. Some platforms depict seeds, as sesame or poppy, and a schmear of cream cheese, with the bagel assembled as a sandwich. May resemble the <a href="/doughnut/">Doughnut</a> at small sizes.

After complaints, <a href="https://blog.emojipedia.org/apple-fixes-bagel-emoji/">Apple updated the bagel emoji design</a> during the iOS 12.1 beta cycle.

Bagel

A slice of pepperoni pizza, previously also topped with black olives on Google. WhatsApp adds green pepper, Samsung white onion.

Cocktail Glass

A globe, showing the continents of North and South America in green against blue ocean.

May be used to represent various content concerning the North and South American regions as well Atlantic and Pacific regions. May also be used to represent Earth and international affairs more generally.

A construction site generally depicted as a tower crane shown lifting steel or other building materials.

A generic, high-rise office building. Generally found in cities, and most active during business hours.

The <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tokyo_Tower">Tokyo Tower</a> is the second-tallest building in Japan, located in&nbsp;Minato, Tokyo.

Built in 1957, the design of the Tokyo Tower &nbsp;was inspired by the Eiffel Tower in Paris, <a href="/flag-france/" title="🇫🇷 Flag For France">France</a>&nbsp;and&nbsp;may be confused for it due to the small size of the emoji. A previous Samsung design also added to this confusion as it was colored grey instead of red and white.

Tokyo Tower

A night sky with stars, depicted on major platforms as a <a href="/sunset/" title="🌇 Sunset Over Buildings">cityscape</a> at night.

A view of city buildings as the last light disappears from the sky. An orange (or blue) glow lingers, before the stars of the <a title="🌃 Night With Stars" href="/night-with-stars/">night sky</a> become visible.

Fire

A classic camera, as an <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Single-lens_reflex_camera">SLR</a>&nbsp;used to take pictures before <a href="/mobile-phone/">camera phones</a>. Generally depicted with a black and silver casing with lens and operating controls.

Commonly used for various content concerning photography as well as an icon for a picture, as before an upload, link, or credit.

An everyday flashlight (electric torch), as used when the power goes out,&nbsp;<a href="/camping/">camping</a>, or telling scary stories. Generally depicted at a 45&deg; angle as a gray and black device with a switch, shown illuminated on many platforms.

Used for various content concerning and senses of&nbsp;light and lighting (e.g., spotlight).

Google&rsquo;s flashlight was <a href="/google/android-11.0/flashlight/">previously</a>&nbsp;orange.

Electric Torch

Cash money! A banded stack of U.S. dollar banknotes, the paper currency of the <a href="/flag-united-states/">United States of America</a>. Green hue and detail vary across platforms, but shown with the <a href="/heavy-dollar-sign/">dollar sign</a>, $. Commonly used for various content concerning wealth and money, not restricted to the U.S.

Apple&rsquo;s design depicts $1 bills with Cupertino and <a href="https://www.mactrast.com/2017/05/who-exactly-is-john-appleseed/">John Appleseed</a> in the treasury signature sections.
